Store Management and Stock Control
 
Course: Store Management and Stock Control
Objectives: After the successful training the participants will be able to improve interpersonal relationship between central stores and sub-stores personnel, prepare correct annual forecasts, allocations, purchase proposals and purchase orders, ensure proper receiving, inspection and supply/consumption of stores, improve classification, coding and stock control system and ensure proper documentation, accounting, pricing and cost center.
For whom: Store Keepers/Store Suptd., Purchase Superintendent and the other personnels who are involved with store management and control.
Course contents:
  • Organization set up of central stores and sub-stores and their relationship
  • Procurement of stores (Local & Foreign)
  • Receiving and inspection of stores
  • Simplification and standardization
  • Warehousing and materials handling
  • Surplus, salvage and scrap disposal, slow moving
  • Stores consumption and stores transfer
  • Stores accounting
  • Stores inventory and stock verification
  • Classification of stores, cost-centers and store coding
  • Economic order quantity and safety stock
  • Store security system
  • Fire protection
  • Selected computer programs and operating techniques
  • Computer use in store management
  • Practical training and practice session
  • Stores specific procedures
  • Record keeping systems
Duration: 3 (Three) working days.
Date: Starting from 09-01-2005 for 3 working days.
